Writing that resonates: How to engage and connect with readers | GPSC416

Description

Learn how to clearly and confidently write about what you do and who you are so that your work actually connects with people.

In today’s oversaturated media landscape, it takes a lot to stand out in a sea of content. Do you want to share your story, explain a school project in a way people actually care about, or get others excited about your business idea or creative work? Strong writing and storytelling skills are essential to cutting through the noise.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn practical writing techniques to capture and hold a reader’s attention. We’ll cover how to write a compelling hook, make a strong and coherent argument, use vivid and varied language and keep your audience in mind at every step. You’ll put pen to paper right away and work with others to strengthen your writing in a supportive, non-judgmental atmosphere.

Clear, engaging and authentic writing is a transferable skill you can use across your academic, professional and personal life—from social media posts and cover letters to personal websites and blogs.
