How to navigate the workplace as a TA and RA | GPTK794

Description

Join some of Concordia’s seasoned teaching and research assistants for a workshop on the “small print” of being a TA or RA: explaining union membership, how contracts and workload forms work, what are your rights as a student worker at Concordia, and how to navigate common work-place problems like boundaries and overwork. You’ll meet other students with experience working at Concordia and organizing in unions, and you'll have plenty of extra time to ask them all your burning questions.

This workshops is designed primarily to help orient workers who are currently signing their first contracts, but could also be useful to anyone with more experience who has outstanding doubts or concerns regarding their workload.

Learning Objectives

In this workshop, you will learn,

  2. To learn the workplace rights that you have as a teaching/research assistant
